From Asia to America: Uncovering the Forgotten History of GW's First Asian Students

Please join us on Friday, May 22, at 11:30am to hear Professor Shawn McHale, speak on the rich history of GW' s first Asian students and the University's connection to Asia.

In celebration of Asian and Pacific Heritage Month, Gelman's Diversity Group is please to feature guest speaker, Professor Shawn McHale, Director Sigur Center for Asian Studies Associate Professor of History and International Affairs.  Professor McHale will speak on GW's long historical connection to Asia beginning with GW's founder, Luther Rice and the University's early Asian students and notable figures. Refreshments and food will be served including tea. The event is free to all GW students, faculty and staff.  Sponsored by Gelman Library Diversity Group diversity@gelman.gwu.edu
