Find a Book: You Have a Title or Author
Use it for: Finding a book at Gelman or Consortium libraries.
Why use it? Because you know specifically what you want, and you want to know how to get it.

Search by Title 
Step 1
Start at the top right of any Gelman Library website page. Making sure the Catalog tab is selected, type your title in the search box. If your title starts with "the", "a", or "an", leave it out.
Step 2
First look for the GW title.
-
If it is available, find it on the shelf.

If GW doesn't have it, or it's checked out, request it from one of the other Consortium libraries.
- If you get no results, try searching by author. If you still get no results, request it via Interlibrary Loan.

Search by Author 
Step 1
Go to the Gelman Library website and type your author, last name first, in the search box at the top right of the screen, making sure the Catalog tab is selected.
Step 2
Find your author on the list and click on the link.

If it is available, find it on the shelf.

If GW doesn't have it, or it's checked out, request it from one of the other Consortium libraries.
- If you get no results, try searching by title. If you still get no results, request it via Interlibrary Loan.

Look for only GW books by using this catalog search box and choose "George Washington" under "Limit by Location.". To narrow the number of your results, you can also search by both title and author from the Advanced Search Screen.
