The Writing Center

Beginning on Sunday, September 20th The Writing Center will be back on the Mount Vernon Campus every Sunday night from 7-10pm.  All GW Writing Center tutoring takes place on the first floor of Eckles Library in the Conference Room (towards the back of the first floor).

To schedule an appointment with a GW Writing Center tutor, please fill out a form on  The Writing Center webpage. Walk-ins may be accepted, but keep in mind that there may not be an open slot available at the time you arrive.

Besides Sunday nights at Eckles, the Writing Center offers additional sessions throughout the week in Foggy Bottom. More information is available on their website .

The Writing Center conducts free, one-on-one sessions with undergraduate and graduate students to assist them with course writing assignments, research papers, theses, and personal statements. Sessions are scheduled on the hour and last either 25 minutes or 50 minutes. Trained graduate and undergraduate peer tutors help students develop and focus their ideas, implement an organizational strategy, utilize evidence proficiently, and clarify their syntax and diction.
