New Collection: Gay Pulp Fiction from Guild Press
The Special Collections Resesarch Center recently acquired an important collection of 1960s and 1970s gay pulp fiction novels issued by local publisher Guild Press.
September 18 Poetry Event: “Voices from the City” Featuring DC-based Poets
On September 18 the Special Collections Research Center at the Gelman Library at The George Washington University and poet Grace Cavalieri will host “Voices from the City,” an evening program of poetry readings and jazz performances.
New Collection: Political Advertisement Videocassette Collection, 1970-2005
Political advertisements. Debates. Twenty-four hour political news coverage. With election season in full swing, these types of television coverage can be summoned anytime with just a click of the remote. The Special Collections Research Center has an exciting new collection that documents the evolution of political advertising on television from 1970 to 2005.

Mr. Thomas James Connors has begun his role as the Teamsters Labor Archivist.
Special Collections name changed to Special Collections Research Center
On March 19, 2008, the Special Collections and University Archives Department of the Gelman Library System at The George Washington University has been renamed the Special Collections Research Center.
