Manuscript Division
The Special Collections Research Center Manuscript Division collects and preserves materials relating, but not limited to the history of the District of Columbia, American Labor History, Media and Journalism, and the African Diaspora.
Rare Books & Maps
The Special Collections Research Center Rare Books & Maps Division is comprised of rare and specialized book collections, ranging from noteworthy cultural and religious print materials to faculty and alumni authored books. The strengths of this division are rare books and printed material documenting the Jewish experience, the Middle East, maps of the Holy Lands and the District of Columbia, and fiction books by Washington, DC authors and publishers.
University Archives
The University Archives is a division of the Special Collections Research Center and is the official repository for the records of The George Washington University. This division collects and preserves the administrative and social history of the University, including Mount Vernon College & Seminary and the Foggy Bottom neighborhood.
