Gelman Library Privileges for GW Alumni
Access to the Library. Alumni with a GWorld Alumni ID card are entitled to access the Gelman Library's open collection of books, journals, microfilms, government documents, special collections, and other non-circulating items at no charge. Swipe your GWorld Alumni ID card through the card reader at the entrance and enter the turnstiles.
Books. Once you pay an annual fee of $50, you may check out general GW circulating collections material and materials at WRLC off-site storage facility that are owned by GW. You may not check out materials at any other WRLC university or materials from outside the WRLC. You do not have Interlibrary Loan privileges. You may renew books via phone, e-mail, or online using your MyALADIN account. And you may request 'Rush Processing' for books that appear in the ALADIN Catalog.
Online databases. Selected premium electronic resources, including Proquest Research Library (Alumni Edition), and ABI/Inform Complete (Alumni Edition), have been made available by special arrangement for George Washington University alumni through the generous support of the George Washington Alumni Association and the Gelman Library System.
Access to these resources is limited to those with an Alumni Online Community username and password. Alumni who wish to get an Alumni Online Community username and password should visit the Alumni Online Community registration page.
You may access any of Gelman Library's online databases from inside the library.
Wireless access within Gelman. You may use the wireless network within Gelman with your own laptop. Come to the Reference Desk to sign up during business hours, and check here for additional details.
