    • Kurzweil 3000 (reading/writing program.  Reads/scans documents and reads web content)
    • Duxbury (for Brailler)

Gelman 309 (low vision individuals)

  • Hardware:
    • Dell computer with 20" wide screen monitors
    • HP Document Scanner
    • HP Laser Printer
    • CCTV (closed-circuit television for document enlargement)
  • Software:
    • JAWS Professional (screen reader)
    • ZoomText (screen magnifier/reader)
    • Kurzweil 1000 (scans/converts paper text to digital text)
    • Kurzweil 3000 (reading/writing program.  Reads/scans documents and reads web content)
    • Dragon NaturallySpeaking (voice dictation software)

 

Disability Support Services

To make arrangements to use any of this equipment, contact GW's Disability Support Services Office at (202) 994-8250 or via their web page at http://gwired.gwu.edu/dss/. For special needs in the Gelman Library not addressed by that office, you may call the Library Administration Office at (202) 994-6455, weekdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Disability Support Services (DSS) provides an assistant to those students who have physical limitations in the library or laboratory setting. If you have established a file at DSS and have been approved for this service, please consult the lab coordinator.
